Then, on to the the magnificent St. John's co- Cathedral featuring the famous Caravaggio's painting "Beheading of St. John". In the afternoon, we continue our tour visiting the prehistoric Hagar Qim Temple (3300BC), with its staggering heavy megaliths ( even 20 tons heavy!). Our final stop for today is the medieval city of Mdina, which is otherwise known as "The Silent City" or "città vecchia". Built in the 9th century by the Arabs, it is the islands old capital. Our walking tour includes all the main highlights and also a visit to St. Paul's Cathedral.

Enjoy the many beautiful bays and scenic spots of this island: Calypso Cave which offers magnificent views over the red sands of Ramla Bay, the Azure Window and Inland Sea where you can take a boat trip (optional and paid locally) around the sea locked lake. Stop in the pretty bay of Xlendi, in the south of the island, for lunch on your own. Thursday Taormina
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Taormina. The ancient Taurominum, is a spot of infinite loveliness, the land of Dolce far niente - of sweet do nothing. The town lies in an elevated position of amazing, almost unique beauty, affording magnificent views combining sea and sky of a marvelous blue, miles of a curving coastline and picturesque mountain scenery, while the majestic pyramid of Mt. Etna on one side constitutes a scene of indescribable beauty. The most impressive monument of the city is the Greco-Roman Theatre. It has the finest site of any theatre in the world and one of the most striking monuments of antiquity.
